Web page transitions
by ZetaGecko | Add Your Comments | Dreams
In my dream, I'm surfing a few web pages. As I click links on one site, rather than one page simply disappearing and the next loading in its place, the pages do unusual transitions. For example, the page that was clicked shrinks down and ends up framed by the new page, or the original page does a sort of tumbling expand and contract, and somehow ends up displaying the new page.I notice that I've seen these transitions using the Mozilla web browser, so the transitions must be done in some standard way (as opposed to some Internet Explorer only trick), so I save the pages in order to be able to inspect the HTML and see how it is done. I show the pages to one of my brothers, who also has lots of websites, and with whom I work on some sites.
When I've saved the web pages on my computer, they show up as icons on the desktop--one for the page, and a folder for parts included in the page. The icons are miniature versions of the page itsself. I realize that one (which looks like a document rather than a folder) is really a folder, and explain this to someone who's watching, while trying to think of how to open the folder (it is some special sort of folder which, were I to double click it, would display the page rather than opening the folder).
